DESCRIPTION OF CLASSES

Ballroom Beginners – these classes are for those with no experience  of dancing or for refreshing your skills. Only very basic figures will be taught. Over a full year, you will cover all the major ballroom and latin dances i.e. Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot (and Social Foxtrot), Ballroom Tango, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Jive, Paso Doble. The beginners classes are rotated in sequence, so that whenever you join you will eventually learn all the dances. Each block of classes covers at least one ballroom and one latin dance and blocks are usually 6-7 wks in length.

Ballroom Improvers – these classes are for those who have completed the ballroom beginners and have some understanding of each dance. The same dances will be covered as in beginners. There will be reminders of basic figures at the start of each new dance, after which new figures will be added.

Ballroom Intermediates – these classes are for those who have completed  the beginners classes and possible the improvers, though the latter is not essential. You will have a good understanding of basic technique in both the ballroom and latin classes. No very basic figure will be re-taught.

All ballroom classes contain a ½ hr practice session.

Medals and Technique classes

These are open to all levels. Technique can always be improved no matter how skilled you are, and there are Medals and Examinations to suit every level. You can drop in an out of these classes if you are an anytime member for no extra charge.
