7.15-8.15 Beginners' Ballroom & Latin Dance Class: Foxtrot, Jive, Ballroom Tango & Samba

Description of Classes

In the Beginners' class, dances are rotated on a 6 or 8 wk cycle, so that all the main dances of Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Tango (in ballroom) and Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Jive, and Samba are covered at a basic level in a 6 month period. If you are new to dancing, you will just want to attend the first hour.

Once you have covered all of the dances in the Beginners' class, it will be time to move up to the Improvers. As beginners often forget the basic steps you might like to repeat the beginners' class and add on the extra steps half hour class before moving up to Improvers. This will give you confidence and your will become very proficient at a basic level, making the more difficult steps of the Improvers class easier to tackle.

In the Improvers' class, all the beginners dances are also rotated on a 6 wk cycle and taught at a higher level along other dances such as Paso Doble, Argentine Tango, Viennese Waltz and American Smooth. Most of the improvers will also attend the Extra Steps Half Hour to remind them of steps they may not have done recently.

It is important that you choose your class wisely, as basic steps are not taught in the Improvers. If you are in any doubt at all, please ask.
